歌曲故事
词曲作者Rod Temperton最初将这首歌命名为《星光》（Starlight），副歌部分的歌词一开始也是"Starlight! Starlight sun"。制作人琼斯则对Temperton说，杰克逊上张专辑的就是以Temperton写的歌命名的，这次也得找一个更好的名字。因而Temperton重新改了歌词。他说：“我回到酒店之后，写了得有两三百个标题，最后决定叫《午夜之人》。第二天早上我醒来，念着这个词，我脑子里就有个声音说这就是标题了。我都能想象得到这个词出现在公告牌榜单之首的那个样子，这个词就是颤栗（Thriller）。”
